Enefiok Udo-Obong, renowned Nigerian sprinter and Olympic gold medalist, has been appointed as the Technical Director of Saudi Arabia’s Athletic Development Programme. This appointment comes as he prepares to lead the Saudi Arabian team to the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, starting July 26th.

Born on May 22, 1982, Enefiok Udo-Obong made history as the only Nigerian athlete to secure two Olympic medals—a gold in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and a bronze in the same event at the 2004 Athens Olympics. His achievements extend beyond athletics; he holds a degree in Human Anatomy from the University of Calabar and an Advanced Master’s degree in Sports Administration and Technology from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland.

Prior to his current role, Udo-Obong served as the Technical Director of the Lagos State Athletics Association, where he spearheaded numerous developmental initiatives.
