Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has addressed Nigeria’s economic crisis calling on controversial pastor Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, also known as Odumeje, to use his supposed powers to save the nation. In a tongue-in-cheek post on X (formerly Twitter), Charly Boy highlighted the country’s dire economic situation and widespread hunger.
Charly Boy humorously appealed to Odumeje, saying, “Dear Odumeje, We Nigerians have humbly come to you – please can you stop the nation from burning, fire is catching, the economy is plummeting.” His ironic tone underscores the frustration felt by many Nigerians.
With a touch of wit, Charly Boy added, “We ask for your power in this desperate time of need. Abeg no mind Dangote, he get plenty money oo, this hunger no dey reach him side that’s why E no understand say E go humble before the Indabosky #Naijamatter.”
This playful plea follows President Bola Tinubu’s announcement of measures aimed at tackling food insecurity in the country. The federal government has implemented a 150-day duty-free import window for essential food commodities, including wheat, maize, husked brown rice, and cowpeas, to alleviate the burden of import taxes and duties and make food more accessible.
Charly Boy’s humorous approach serves to highlight the desperation and frustration of Nigerians amid the ongoing economic challenges. While his appeal to Odumeje is clearly made in jest, it reflects the broader sentiment of a populace grappling with hardship and seeking any form of relief.
