In a significant breakthrough, the Utako Division of the Nigerian Police Force has apprehended four suspects involved in the heinous robbery and murder of retired Brigadier General Uwen Harold. The incident occurred at House No. 9, Sanga Street, Sundshine Homes, near Kabusa Junction, Lokogoma, FCT, Abuja.
The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Rabiu (33), Nafiu Jamil (33), Aliyu Abdullahi (47), and Mohammed Nuhu (28), were captured following a meticulous operation led by Csp Victor O Godfrey on June 23, 2024. Each suspect hails from various regions including Kano and Zamfara states but had been residing in different areas of Abuja.
According to police reports, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the robbery where they fatally attacked General Uwen Harold. Allegedly, during the robbery, they resorted to murder when the General attempted to defend himself with a pistol. The suspects further admitted to stealing laptops, phones, and other valuables from the deceased’s residence.
Crucial evidence including the knife used in the murder and the General’s mobile phone were recovered during the operation. Efforts are currently underway to locate and retrieve two pistols believed to have been taken from the scene by the suspects.
Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and efforts to apprehend other accomplices who remain at large are actively pursued. Updates on the case will be provided as developments unfold.
